Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical used in the production of plastic and polycarbonate bottles and liners. BPA, an environmental estrogen, can leak out of these bottles and container linings into your food or drink. A growing number of scientists are concluding that exposure to BPA raises the risk of certain cancers, hampers fertility and could contribute to childhood behavioural problems such as hyperactivity. It is already banned from use in food grade containers in many countries
Phthalates are chemicals that are typically used in plastics to increase their flexibility. But they're also found in a variety of other products. Some research has shown that pthalates leaching out of plastic products and containers cause increased risk of birth defects, liver cancer, kidney problems and other hormonal imbalances in laboratory animals.
In addition to human health concerns, our planet is becoming polluted with discarded plastic bottles.
We have sourced products that are BPA- free and reusable. The drink bottles below are either made with stainless steel or Eastar Resin a non-leaching, non-BPA plastic intended for reuse.
