Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet has a very long history of herbal use, the leaves and flowering stems are alterative, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, diaphoretic, diuretic, stomachic and tonic. The flower head contains salicylic acid, from which the drug aspirin can be synthesised. This combination of constituents in Meadowsweet act to protect the inner lining of the stomach and intestines and provide anti-inflammatory benefits.
The herb is valuable in the treatment of diarrhoea and is considered to be a useful stomachic herb. Meadowsweet is useful for hyperacidity, heartburn, gastritis and inflammation, for which it is one of the most effective plant remedies.
Therapeutic Use
A herbal antacid. Traditionally used by the North American Indians to normalise stomach secretions.
Active Ingredients
Each ‘preservative free’ capsule contains 340mg of Filipendula ulmaria herb powder.
Dosage
For adults: take three capsules with a meal three times daily.`
