Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin B-Complex is not a single substance, but a combination of several individual vitamins. There are nine specific components of the Vitamin B-Complex that are recognised, all of which are water-soluble. Each component has a specific name and differs in chemical structure and function. Most of these are part of a coenzyme molecule concerned with the breakdown of carbohydrates, protein and fat in the body. The actions of many of the components are interrelated and work synergistically. Few of the B-Complex vitamins are stored in large amounts by the body, so they must be provided regularly through diet or supplementation. There are many physiological and pathological stresses that influence the need for Vitamin B-Complex. Among their many roles they are necessary for the nervous system and energy production.
